About IONS

The Institute of Noetic Sciences was founded in 1973 with an ambitious mission.  The pledge was to seek to understand our inner world as thoroughly as we have the outer world.  This approach was based on the premise that what finds expression in the world at large is a reflection of our inner landscape. It all came about because of an experience Edgar Mitchell had while returning to the earth during the Apollo 14 mission to the moon. The approach taken has accomplished much in the last 35 years.

 

About the St. Louis Community Group

The St. Louis IONS Community Group is interested in the study of consciousness through discussion of scientific and spiritual ideas.   We are interested in theoretical possibilities based on quantum physics, belief systems, psychological discoveries, human interaction with nature and related topics.  We are also interested in how these possibilities play out in various world views, ancient, current, and emerging.
